All praise to God...

I got the job!

Starting 4 Jan., 2010, I will be teaching 11 1st graders at a small Classical Christian School up near Fairfax, Va. God is so incredibly good to me! This isn't a job I sought at all. I was busy searching for teaching jobs here in NC public schools, but out of the blue a family friend called to let me know she had spoken to her children's principal about me. The principal asked me to send my resume and an application, so I did...not really thinking it would result in anything. But long story short, I had a couple interviews with that school, as doors kept closing here on job opportunities, and after much prayer and seeking of counsel...here I am. There's still much to trust the Lord for- housing, new responsibilities as I'm out on my own, a church- but I am confidant that the One who has so faithfully provided for me now will only continue to do so, abundantly! This hymn has been on my mind much lately:

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
And all is darkened in the vale of tears,
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.

Be still, my soul: begin the song of praise
On earth, believing, to Thy Lord on high;
Acknowledge Him in all thy words and ways,
So shall He view thee with a well pleased eye.
Be still, my soul: the Sun of life divine
Through passing clouds shall but more brightly shine.

Amen!

New home

This blog is the new home of 'Tis Equal Joy to Go or Stay, the blog I had on wordpress for my trip to England.

As I'm about to embark on another adventure, I thought I would start a blog again to keep up with all those back home...
